Welcome to Panda AM & PM Classes! August 2024
Dear Panda Class AM & PM Parents,
Welcome to our first Panda Class blog of the term!
The children have been doing so well and we are very happy to see them settling in day by day! 🎉
I will keep you updated once we start delving into our first Unit of Inquiry, but for now, we are focussing on settling in, building our class communities, learning new routines and having lots of fun with various learning engagements such as playdough, painting, music & movement and new toys!
We recently visited our neighbours, the Frog class, and enjoyed playing with their toys and meeting new friends. We will soon be exploring the sand pit, and we'll venture to the outdoor playground for the first time, too!
Here is our daily routine for each AM & PM session for your reference:
Friendly Reminders:
*We will be starting Library Day next Monday. Please ensure your child brings their book bag with them so they can borrow a book to take home for the week. The books will need to be returned and exchanged the following Monday.
*Chinese Day is every Wednesday with Yammi Laoshi. I will be in and out of the classroom during the class period. I also use this time to plan our lessons and also to keep you updated with our Class Blog (bi-weekly).
*Just something to keep in mind, we have children with severe nut allergies at Hillside. In light of ensuring the health and well-being of all students, we kindly insist that parents refrain from sending any nuts or nut-based products into school. Please share this with anyone who prepares school snacks for your child and direct them to our Nut Free poster for further clarification.
*Please label socks and shoes because we are starting to go in the sandpit and it makes items easier to find if they have names on them.
*Kindly label every item of clothing your child brings to school including snack boxes, water bottles, spare clothes, and sun hats.
*We are still missing some family photos - if you have not already sent one in please email me a photo to print out for our display board.
Here are our Google Photo Albums for you to view with your child and hopefully you can chat about the photos together and discuss what you see! It may help your children remember all the enjoyable moments we've been having recently too.
