Dear Panda Parents,  We hope you are all well and having a good week!  The Pandas looked like they really enjoyed Pamela Peck Discovery Space, and thank you for enabling the children to attend! Here at school, we have been continuing to explore activities using the lens of 'little scientists'. As our Unit of Inquiry draws to a close, we have been reflecting on everything we have been learning about and realise we have learnt a lot, from the water cycle to bridge building, colour mixing and much more! This week, construction is one of our main areas of focus, and this is available during open play as well as at arrival play. The children are working together using half pipes and stands and measuring tapes to see how far toy cars or plastic balls can travel! The children are enjoying exploring ice play in the sensory tray featuring frozen objects and using tools to get them out. We have been hearing some fantastic comments regarding how to free the objects from the ice, what mig...

Exciting Learning Updates in Our Class

Dear parents and caregivers, I hope this message finds you well. Over the previous weeks, we enriched our understanding of the UOI "How the World Works" by focusing on numbers, counting, and the exploration of common materials, particularly paper. We read the story "叮叮当当杂货店" (Meimei's Grocery Store), where children role-played transactions, practicing their number skills and language usage in a fun, practical context. Additionally, we introduced the delightful number song "从一数到五" (Counting from One to Five) to help reinforce key vocabulary. We then shifted our focus to the exploration of materials, star...

Dear Panda Families,  Thank you so much for attending Sports Day! The Pandas did brilliantly, and we loved everyone's effort in promoting a happy, collaborative and enthusiastic atmosphere!  A big thank you to our AM & PM Class Parents for all your help and sending reminders! We have lots of exciting news, but firstly.....the Pandas have been growing crystals! Each class started by making them yesterday, using pipe cleaners and a washing powder solution. We are discussing our wonderings about why the crystals have appeared, and it's really interesting hearing what the children predicted from the start, and what they think as they see the scientific changes happening. The children will monitor the crystal growing, and hopefully, we'll be able to take out our crystal decorations soon!                                                       ...
